Changes to a character's skill set and point distribution can be made at any time during their Diablo 2: Resurrected career. The game's respec feature comes in handy in these situations.
In Diablo 2: Resurrected, respeccing your character is a viable option for a variety of reasons. You may have found that your character is strong enough to overcome the Normal and Nightmare levels, but falls short when put in the Hell mode. Another possibility is that you have come upon a powerful D2R item that focuses on a set of talents that you have neglected to level up. When done properly, a respec can transform a weak character into a killing machine. But you should know that in Diablo 2: Resurrection, your options for changing your character's specialization are fairly constrained.
Quick and simple
Diablo 2: Resurrection provides you with three respec options for your characters — one for each difficulty level. Once you have completed the Act 1 mission Den of Evil, you can return to Akara at the Rogue Encampment and she will offer you the chance to respec your character. Fortunately, you don't have to use it on that playthrough if you don't want to. If you decide to play on Nightmare or Hell difficulties instead, you can always return to Normal and use the free respec. You can rearrange your character's skill and stat points after speaking with Akara and selecting the respec character option.
Having to learn the "hard way"
Diablo 2: Resurrected gives you three free character respecs, but after that you'll have to earn each additional respec you want. And you'll need to have beaten the game on Hell mode, which is no easy task. To produce a Token of Absolution, you must first collect four essences from the many bosses you've vanquished. These essences can be combined using the Horadric cube. If you use the token, your previously allocated stat and skill points will be returned to you. You need to vanquish Andariel or Duriel to obtain the warped Essence of Suffering, Mephisto to obtain the charged Essence of Hatred, Diablo to obtain the burning Essence of Terror, and Baal to obtain the putrid Essence of Destruction. Remember that not all enemies will consistently drop them upon defeat.
